Eastbourne Pier, 31st July 2014

Eastbourne Pier, 31st July 2014
The day after Eastbourne Pier caught fire.
July 30, 2014: A major fire destroyed the roof and damaged approximately one-third of the Grade II* listed pier, including the Blue Room and main arcade. Eighty firefighters battled the blaze, which started in the wood panelling of an arcade building. While initially not thought to be suspicious, police later suspected arson, though the intense heat destroyed much evidence. The pier partially reopened within two months, but a workman tragically died weeks later after falling through the damaged structure.

All prints are produced to order through a professional UK photo lab. No digital file is included. Prints are supplied unframed unless stated. Some images may include a natural white border or slight crop depending on the selected print size.
